I completed my first chemo session on Monday – a couple of hours in a comfortable recliner with an IV. This time at the end they attached an Infusion Pump that supplies a steady drip of drugs. This has to stay in place for 48 hours. So I go back on Wednesday for removal. I also found out that I will need 12 of these sessions every other week.
Unlike the last time I went though this, I am already feeling some slight side effects – slight tingling in my hands sometimes when I stand up and move around and general loopy feeling. These are expected side effects. There are probably more coming. I am supposed to avoid crowds – no Disney for half a year. Avoid cold – easy to do in Florida. Avoid sun exposure – not so easy in Florida. Avoid alcohol – hardest part.
Best wishes Rich, quite a journey. We know you’re in professional hands.
Thanks for sharing and we’ll see you all in FL next Spring. -p
Thanks, looking forward to seeing you.
